One Room Challenge // Transitional Master Bedroom

This is my first ever blog post and I haven't the slightest idea on how it should start. Maybe I'll start by telling you my entire life's story, maybe I'll roll out a parade of cliches that normally fill the lines of these types of posts, maybe I'll start with some long drawn out anecdote about how I came to love design...
Or maybe I should just explain to you why I'm doing this in the first place.
My name is Betsy Little, and Little Design Co. is my baby. Two and a half years ago, while building a small business reupholstering, my mom suggested I start a line of pillows. Together we grew a pillow company, and began one of the best seasons of our lives together.  During that same season I also welcomed a baby girl, Roe, into the world. Eleven months later, during the fall of 2016, we lost my mom suddenly to a fatal brain aneursym. My world as I knew it turned upside down. My mom continues to be a huge part of this adventure in spirit and it's a privilege to honor her legacy. My mom was my best friend, I shared everything with her. I told her one day I would start a blog. I also told her I would participate in a One Room Challenge some day. Fulfilling the little things and dreams that we shared is important to me, therapeutic in a way.
Before I get into the One Room Challenge details, I have to mention the six other amazing women who work day in and day out making the business side of this happen. They make me laugh, they work hard, they sacrifice time away from their family, and they've held me together after such a hard year. They are the reason that my business is standing and I owe them everything.
Moving right along...I kindly request grace, as I will need a lot of it. I'm a novice at this, at best, and totally over my head, at worst. What I do know, is that I am writing my first blog post ever and I'm taking on my master bedroom for the One Room Challenge. Two birds with one stone, and all that...
Here is my master bedroom in it's current state...please don't gauge your eyeballs out - you will need them for the "after" in six weeks.
wood composite headboard from my husband's bachelor days...
glamorous dog beds that flank our bed and Lilly, my chocolate lab...
shower doors waiting to be installed, a year later...
treadmill...this is getting bad, I know.
the other dog bed, treadmill, etc...
lots of room, as you can see...and lamp hoarding.
Below is the "rough draft" design board, maybe there's hope for me yet...
So next week, I will present my final design board and plans, along with a schedule of events. In the meantime, check out the other participants for the One Room Challenge - they are much for polished, seasoned, and entertaining. Like I mentioned before, this is a total learning curve and I'm diving in.
See you next week.
